    Hey!
Does anyone know how or have a recipe to make Alabama biscuits? They are a little sweet, with salt on top, but a portion of the biscuit is pulled up on top of the biscuit before baking.
I would like to make them for a good friend as a surprise gift. I did look on the internet but I thought if someone really makes them it would be awesome to have their recipe.
    Thanks :) Brenn

I've never heard of them, but they sound good.

My Mom made these when we were kids and they were always a treat, easy to make but oh so special.
    Alabama Biscuits
    3 C. flour
    1 pkg yeast
    2 tsp sugar
    1/3 c. water
    2 tsp baking powder
    4 tsp melted butter
    1 tsp salt
    1 C. milk
Disolve yeast in warm water. Mix all ingredients: roll and cut out. Place 2 in a greased muffin pan, covering the top side of each with the melted butter. Let rise at least one hour. Bake at 450 degrees until golden brown.

I think it is 2 1/2 tsps. I buy bulk yeast from Sam's Club & I think that is what my bread machine says a package is.
