    Default Bars for breakfast

Made some delicious Raspberry Crumble Bars last night! Perfect way to start Labour Day. The recipe is from pinchofyum.com and the only change I made, was to add a handful of blueberries to top up the raspberry measurement.

Those look delicious. Have you ever tried them with jam instead of fresh or frozen raspberries? I'm not a big raspberry fan but think they would be great with cranberries or blackberries. YUM!

ThimbleBug ...You just took me on a trip down memory lane. My Mom used to make the same/similar recipe as Date Squares when we were kids. Sometimes she switched it up with raspberries. Also, pineapple.

Dangerous website though .... more than this recipe calling to me!!!

nummy, date bars....love those.....I still make them...but cut down greatly on the sugar, dates are pretty sweet as they are.

Easier to find. Nice website. I have to look at those freezer meals too.

I've got a gazillion apples. I should make some bars and freeze them for winter breakfasts. Do you think this recipe will work for apples too?

Definitely .... apples, dates, pineapple, rhubarb, whatever!
Par-cook the filling. Kind of like a pie filling, with lots of fruit and little sauce.

I'd be more skeptical on the success at freezing the bars.

Yeah...well...I won't know until I try. I'm going to work on that this weekend. I'll keep you posted on how they turn out.

And with a tweak here and there, you will soon have a new recipe to share!
