Anny one want to trade recipies for Blueberry season?
My Favorite Blueberry Pie
Pie Dough
2c flour
1tsp salt
3/4c shortning
4 tbs cold water
filling
4-5c blueberrys
1/4c cornstarch
2tbsp flour
1 3/4c sugar
2 drops vanilla extract
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp butter
pie dough
add all dry ingredents and cut shortning in with fork and knife after it is mixed thouroly(will look like crumbs)add water kneed only until mixed. greas and flour pan. crumble pie doe in pan then smoosh till smooth.leave half the pie doe for top.set aside.
filling
add everything but butter. gentely toss blueberries coating well.add blueberry mix to pie pan with waiting dough.(there will be some ingredients not stuck to blueberries add that to top anyway)cut butter up and dot the top of blueberry mix.kneed remaining pie dough as much as needed to roll out a top for pie.
Bake at 425*F for 20 min then decrese to 375*F and bake for 35-50 min more cool for an hour.
