A British Special for Xmas! Mince Pies!

Caroltee:
I was given a ton of green tomatoes in October and the lady said she didn't want any pay but did want a jar of green tomatoe mincement. I followed a recipe that I had but wasn't wildly crazy about it but don't know if I did it right. Is there suppose to be meat in it? Mine has green tomatoes, white and brown raisins, and a bunch of other fruit . I haven't made a pie with what I canned.....I actually made it so I'd have a jar for the lady. Tried to give her more jars but she only wanted one! I have 7 jars left and would like to use them somehow.

I think in the States you call things differently to the English and Mincemeat in England can be two things. Something you buy in the Butchers which is minced steak. However just to confuse everyone Mincemeat Pies at Christmas is made with mincemeat made from currants, raisins, suet and spices which we buy in a glass jar. Just to clear up the confusion these are sweet and delicious.
