Chicken pot pie
I am starting the filling for tonight's dinner which is
going to be a homemade (except the crust) recipe.
2 things it CAN NOT have in it is broccoli & mushrooms.
What is YOUR favorite CPP filling recipe?
I went online looking for recipes and found a couple I
liked so I am going to take (what I feel) is the best parts
and make my own.

I throw all kinds of veggies in the pot pies I make. Squash (yellow and zucchini) peas, carrots, corn, green beans, a little spinach, cauliflower. And I sprinkle celery seed on the crust, top and bottom.

I haven't made chicken pot pie for a very long time. May have to do that soon. I would like lots of chicken, more than the frozen ones come with and then lots of carrots, peas... I am getting hungry!
Chasing Hawk: celery seed sounds like a nice addition.

I don't use broccoli or mushrooms. I use carrots, tomatoes, water chestnuts, little onion, peas, potatos and that's about it. I have used pasta and noodles. Everything has been pretty much leftovers. Whatever works for you. have used rice also. I make my own crust. I use foil pans and put my bottom crust in then put into the oven for a bit. Then add ingredients, top crust back in oven. I usually make 3-4 if enough left over. Usually have been able to flip upside down into micro safe bowl so Dh can take to work to reheat.

I am lazy. I do mine in the crock pot. Chicken, broth, cream of whatever I have soup, leftover veggies or a bag of frozen mixed veggies all topped with cut up canned biscuits. Let that cook all day while I sew.

I sweated down fresh chopped celery, minced garlic (very small amount),
and chopped red onion with some butter and olive oil.
When those was finished I added in the cubed chicken cooked until done,
than added in my cream of chicken soup, cream of potato soup, 1 cup water
1 cup milk, 1 package (about 1-1/2 cups) frozen mixed veggies.
It has been simmering for about 1 hour and just turned off the heat. I am
using a Pillsbury Pie Crust all ready made and will use just one and make
it kind of like a "calzone" (just fold crust in half over filling).
I have to meet my daughter and baby daddy at the Dr. office today so this
will be ready to pop into the over soon as I get home.

Use half and half instead of milk, I mix in some frozen pars and carrots for some of the vegetables. Great go to comfort meal!
