My husband keeps talking about waffles with chicken gravy over them. Any body have a recipe for this? He is finally recovering enough from surgery to ask for something to eat and I would love to make this for him.

Sounds like Chicken Ala King served over waffles.

Google chicken with waffles and there is a lot out there.

Makes me hungry! And I have chicken thawing out for dinner...hhhuuuummmmmm

All I do is bake the chicken, make gravy with the drippings, and make a huge stack of waffles. My oldest son asks for this all the time.

Yes, I would also roast the chicken, make the gravy and serve it all over waffles since that what he is asking for, but I always thought chicken and waffles was a southern, soul-food standard made with fried chicken served with waffles and maple syrup. Wrong????????

We have eaten pancakes with gravy for years. Think of it as biscuits and gravy and it doesn't sound so strange. We just use Bisquick and cans or jars of prepared gravy if I don't have leftover gravy. I sometimes use well drained, canned corn in the pancakes as well.

After more than 50 years in South Carolina, I have never heard of this. We would fry chicken, make white gravy(milk gravy) and eat the gravy over biscuits, rice or mashed potatoes.

    Blessings,
