    I don't cook fresh greens very often. So I want to know how you cook them. Some ideas please!!!!

    Oh boy...you have opened a box of worms now...My DH has recently been obsessed with cooking greens and asked EVERYONE how they cook theirs. I can tell you that the overall concensus here in the south is:

    Wash thoroughly, cover with water, add salt & pepper to taste and add either- bacon, country ham, ham bone, or for the diet concsious..a drop or two of olive oil. To reduce the bitter taste, add a little spoon of sugar and if they are still bitter to you, drain off the "green" water and replace it with fresh water. Folks around here pour a little vinegar on them on the plate.. Me??....I hate greens :roll:
