    He gave me her sewing machine about 6 months after she passed because he knows I sew. I told him I would repair it and give it back so he would have one. He declined but said if he needed something sewn he'd bring it by. Then, about a month later I came home to find her Kitchen Aid mixer on my porch! He says he will never use these things and he knows his mom would want me to have them. She had cancer and for the last 2 months all she wanted to eat was home made bread. I baked bread every 2 days so she had fresh bread. She was a great lady, I miss her.
    How kind of your neighbor's son to give you these things. Since you were friends with his mother, they will mean so much more to you. Love and kindness to others is always repaid in some manner, and this is your payment for the love you showed his mother. Enjoy these items and have fun cooking. I know you will think of her often when you use her recipes.

    I am soooo glad there are still kind and good people in this world today,i know there is.it is just far and few between,seem like our heavnly GOD has blessed you both with awesome neighbors.Please don't ever for get that like I said they aren't many of us good people left seem like.

    I have a really good cheesecake recipe that I can post for you to use. The recipe is my DH's and one of my best friends' favorite desserts for me to make. Guys at DH's job are always excited when he has some - they want him to share.

    What a great friend and neighbor you were to her and I am sure her son deeply appreciates all you did to make his mother's last days the best they could be. He would want you to have her things for all the kindness you showed. Bless you!!

    What an awesome heartwarming story of sharing...both you and your neighbor. I hope you can find her cheesecake recipe to make for him. You have been blessed with a lot of treasures of recipes and her mixer, and her sewing machine. So good that he cared enough about his mother to make sure that they got a good home.
