Smile Cookie Shooter Recipes please :)

My christmas gift of an electric cookie shooter is fun to use, but the cookies are not fun to eat. They are either too crumbly and fall apart or too pasty and tasteless. Anyone have a good tasting - sugary, buttery, yummy - recipe to share that will actually work well in the press? Thanks

    Cheese Straws
    (makes 4 dozen)

    1 stick butter (room temp)
    1 cup shredded sharp cheese
    1/2 teaspoon baking powder
    1 cup plain flour

Mix & press. I double or triple the recipe. My press is not electric, but I've just made enough for a wedding.
Bake at 375 for 12 or more mins.

    Default Great Butter Cookie Recipe

You will l ove this. I have one that I purchased in 1977 and it is still fantastic. My favorite reipe for this is:

    1 stick of butter
    1 stick of margarine
    3/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract or lemon extract
    1 egg
    1 teaspoon baking powder
    2 1/2 cups of flour

If dough seems too soft, add a little more flour or put int he fridge for about 30 minutes.

Back at 350 for 10-12 minutes ( golden brown with browner edges)

    Enjoy

    Smile Cookie Shooter Recipes

Thanks everyone. I am baking again today and getting better results. Also trying a few experiments adding orange juice and zest, food colors, spices etc. My husband is always an eager taste tester. Sometimes too eager and I have to hide the rest of the cookies from him or there would be none left!
