Default Dairy Cream Tasting Frozen cake

4 - Tubs cool whip thawed,1- package Oreo cookies ( crushed) or any type you prefer, 24 ice cream sandwiches ( I prefer vanilla),1-9X13"cake pan. Cover the bottom of pan w/ 1-Tub Cool Whip , place 12 sandwich bars on top side by side(completely covers the pan),add 1 tub of cool whip on top & sprinkle w/ 1/2 of the cookie crumbs , Add last 12 ice cream sandwiches on top & press down lightly , add 1 tub cool whip on top & sprinkle rest of cookie crumb on top , CAREFULLY add last tub of cool whip & spread over top . Freeze . You can eat like that or after frozen remove from pan & use another tub of cool whip to icing cake , I also like caramel or chocolate syrup added to each layer after the cookie crumbs are added for a change.

Wow! Sounds good, but without the caramel or choc syrup this cake would cost approx. $35. Better be for a very special occasion.

Everyone may hate me, but I have to disagree. I know some like a dollop of Cool Whip on their desserts, OK. But to serve it by the plateful, to kids - seems irresponsible. Two main ingredients are High fructose corn syrup and hydrogenated vegetable oil (shortening), the two main things we are supposed to avoid in our diet.

    OK, off my soapbox now.

I agree with you sugar wise ptquilts, but once a year for a birthday won't hurt anyone. JMHO. The only time I make a cake or brownies is for birthdays. Other wise this house is sugar free mostly.

Sounds great, couldn't it be scaled down to make it smaller? The one thing with this is that it is frozen, could sit in freezer for some time. It sounds pricey to put together, but anymore anything good is not really reasonable. Good summer time treat.

I have made one using a loaf pan, 1/2 gallon of ice cream (soft), not fond of OREO cookies so use chocolate graham crackers. I just keep making layers of each till the loaf pan is full. Never used cool whip.
