I have a suggestion for your recipe......Add 3 T milk (skim works fine) and your sausage balls will be a bit more moist. I also use 3 C Bisquick (instead of 2) and 2 cups shredded SHARP cheddar cheese. And the ONLY sausage I'll use is Tennessee Pride hot! Sometimes, I use 1/2 hot & 1/2 mild mixed - depending on who they're for.
