    Default Easter baking

The color goes good at Easter or Christmas

    Pistachio Bread:
    1 white cake mix
1 small pkg instant pistachio pudding mix
    1/2 cup oil
    1 cup sour cream
    1/2 cup white sugar
4 eggs, beat after adding one at a time
    1/4 tsp green food coloring
1/2 cup maraschino cherries, chopped & drained on a paper towel

Recommend sifting cake mix into mixing bowl. Whisk in pudding & sugar to blend. Add all to make batter then fold in cherries last by hand. Preheat oven to 350, grease 2 loaf pans. Each pan gets 1/4 of the batter now. In small bowl, mix 4 tsp cinnamon with 3 tsp white sugar. Sprinkle 1/2 of this mixture on batter. Repeat with remaining batter and top with remaining cinnamon-sugar mix. Bake 45-55 minutes. Cool in pan 10 minutes (important) then tip out of pan and finish cooling. I don’t use cherrries at Easter.

Sounds yummy, except for the cherries-son doesn't like them. However, makes 2 loaves-1 for him, 1 for me (with the cherries)!!

Sounds as yummy as it did in the 80s, though then we used a bundt pan.

I will make my usual (for over 30 years) Hot Cross Buns from Taste of Home magazine. They always turn out beautifully and are scrumptious. (Friends in our book study group are already wondering if I am going to make them again this year.)
