    Default End of the cucumbers

We’ve eaten a lot of cucumbers in vinegar, oil & sugar this simmer so when I picked the last of them, I made this version for a change of pace.

    Dressing - whisk together
    1/2 cup sour cream
    1/2 cup real mayo
1/4 cup granulated sugar (can cut amount down)
    1/4 cup white vinegar
    Salt to taste
Dill to taste. (I use Litehouse brand dry freeze dill)
    Pour over
    3 to 5 Sliced cucumbers - mostly peeled & sliced 1/8”
    Thin sliced onions to taste
    Refrigerate 24 hours
Note: it’s not successful to reuse dressing.

Yum, that sounds delicious. I like fresh cucumber with dressing or no dressing at all. I think I could eat them all day long. Sorry your's are all gone now. Start planning for next year.

Ours are almost done too. I will be sad. I love my own cukes.

That recipe is called "Grandma Laura's Cukes" in our family! When we were first married in '75, we bought the house next door to her in order to help her out. We combined gardens, and she made those constantly for us!

Tranum, tried your recipe for the cuke salad and it was DELICIOUS! We had a few cukes left from the neighbor who grew them, and they, plus that dressing, were amazing. Thanks for sharing.

I love cucumbers also, when I went to New Orleans, they would put out pitchers of water with cukes in them, so good and refreshing. I love eating them dipped in ranch dressing.

I love 💕 English Cucumbers but the seeds are hard to get in this area.

My entire garden went to waste this year much to my despair. COVID hit right at the wrong time for me, harvest time. Most spoiled on the vine. Not a thing I could do about it. This recipe sounds wonderful just means I will have to buy a cuke to try it out.

My new favorite refreshing beverage is lemonade with sliced cucumber muddled in.
