Firecrackers (Super Bowl snack)
Recipe calls for 2 gallon plastic bag. Not easy to find that size so can be made in big container with a tight lid. Metal or plastic. (but you can toss the bag if you have it).
1 & 2/3 cups canola oil. (Not olive oil, please)
2 pkgs dry Ranch dressing *
2 Tblsp. crushed red pepper flakes *
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. onion powder
Mix above & pour over crackers.
4 sleeves saltine crackers - empty into bag or container. (I had another 1/2 sleeve so I used 4.5 & it was fine)
Gently roll bag (or container) until oil is picked up by crackers. Let sit & repeat in 5 minutes. Then repeat in 15 minutes. Let sit overnight then serve or freeze for later.
**Omit crushed red pepper & use Italian seasoning instead of Ranch. Add 1/2 tsp. black pepper & dry Parmesan cheese to your liking.
