8 C. Green tomatoes, peeled, and sliced or chopped
Mix together until crumbly into 9"x13" pan. Use half of the mixture.
2 C. brown sugar 1 1/2 C. oatmeal
2 C. flour 2 Tsp. cinnamon
1 1/2 Tsp. nutmeg 1 C. melted butter
Cover with green tomatoes.
Combine:
1 C. Sugar 4 Tbsp. cornstarch
2 C. water 2 Tsp. vanilla
Cook till thick and clear, pour over tomatoes and top with remaining crumb mixture.
Bake in 350 degree oven for 1 hr. Check tomatoes, if not done, cook another 15-30 min. Serve warm or cold with cream, whipped cream or ice cream.
