    Default Homemade Bisquick

    Homemade Bisquick Recipe
    [h=2]Directions:[/h]Sift flour, baking powder and salt three times into a large bowl.
    Cut in shortening with a pastry blender until mixture resembles fine crumbs3
    Store mixture in airtight container in the refrigerator up to 4 months.
    Use whenever your recipe calls for "Bisquick mix".

    I have used this many times and it works fine, and cheaper than Bisquick, I also use Jiffy which is cheaper.

    Thank you for taking the time to post! I have a question..... Is this mix as good for hot cakes and waffles as Bisquick is?

    I have a similar recipe except mine call for 1 cup of milk powder as well. I used to use it all the time, especially for the "impossible" pie recipes.

    I made jam and this biscuit mix one year for Christmas gifts for my co workers. It worked out great. Just put it in pint jars and tied a ribbon around jar. Everyone loved it. Nice gift idea. Just make sure you tell them to keep in refrigerator
