Homemade pasta

Homemade pasta
Does anyone make homemade pasta? I would like to make ravioli and just purchased an attachment to a hand crank pasta maker. No instructions on how to use it though. Very confused. Thanks.

First of all I agree with Geri B look to the internet for information on how to for the handcrank.
Then look in your recipe books there should be something there to make homemade noodles, a good Italian book should have it in there to make any kind of pasta you want. I use my Betty Crocker cookbook from 30 years ago for the noodle recipe. Good luck !

Basically...it's flour and water(and sometimes egg)...you can google a zillion recipes...I use kohlrabi that I grow, dehydrate, grind, and form into flour for pasta...but all pasta is just a basic recipe and practice. Just do a google search...zillions of hits.

My husband does his by hand, I have often offered to get him a machine but he won't have it, anyway your question got me looking on youtube, this link may help and to the right hand side there are other clips (one in Russian I think, but as its a video, you don't really need to worry about words).

Last year Mr Stitchnripper and I decided we would try it. We got the right kind of flour and a hand crank machine. We watched a Martha Stewart video on how to make the dough in the food processor. The first batch we didn't let dry enough. The second batch came out great. Then we put it all away.
