    KALACHIES

    5 CUPS FLOUR
    1 LB BUTTER
    1 LB CREAM CHEESE
    1 EGG
    2 TEAS BAKING POWDER
    MIX TOGEATHER & DIVIDE INTO 3 OR 4 BALLS
    WRAP SEPERAPTLY & PUT INTO FRIG OVER NIGHT

    ROLL OUT IN POWERED SUGAR
    CUT INTO SQUARES AND SPOON IN FILLING AND ROLL OUT

    FILLING
    2 CUPS CHOPPED WALNUTS
    2 CUPS SUGAR
    ENOUGH MILK TO MOISTEN

    BAKE AT 300 to 350 ABOUT 19 MINS
    THEN SPRINKLE WITH POWDERED SUGAR
    enjoy-- so good

    This is what comes up for kifli. It looks equally good but seems to have a different feel. Maybe only a different shape. Either way, you are all making me want some. Thanks for sharing.

    When in college I learned to make kraut runzas. they remind me a little of the above posted recipes.

    Please explain, "cut into squares and spoon in filling and roll out". I have never made but would like to try.

    These are wonderful cookies and you can get all of the instructions at recipegoldmine.com. We make ours with almonds or pecans.

    put your 1 tbs of filling in 1/3 center
    fold over ends, then start with the short end and roll
    over by hand like an eggroll, enchilada, or teaques

    just mash the ends close
