Looking for- No tomato classic simple Chili recipe from scratch
I am looking for a chili recipe that has no tomatoes, packets, soup or canned items.
Just dried navy beans/kidney, onions, chili powder, ground beef and?
I think recipe was posted once but I can not find it.
I am really craving it but can not remember the recipe or where I stored it. LOL Please help?

You can go to Allrecipes.com and do a search. Their search feature will allow you to search for recipes both with and without ingredients you name. In other words, you can search for "chili" recipes that include "ground beef, navy beans, and onions" while leaving out those recipes that include "tomatoes". You may get a couple recipes that include canned soup, but those are easily replaced with homemade items.
I have found some of my family's most-loved recipes with this feature.
Good luck!

In a stock pot brown together:
1.5 to 2 pounds of Ground Beef ( I use Ground Chuck) depends on how much meat you like in it.
1 small onion diced (about 1/4 cup)
1 Tablespoon of your favorite chilli powder.
Add 1 large can of kidney beans ( I prefer the light colored ones), another Tablespoon of chilli powder & 1 can of water. Add salt & pepper to taste. Cover & bring to full boil, then turn down to slow boil (usually Medium heat). Cook until the juice thickens & beans are soft. About 1 -1.5 hours. I actually like it better after it's been refrigerated & re-heated.
