I was shopping for various, dried beans at my favorite online store and I came across Lupini Beans. I had not heard of them before, so I bought a bag and looked up a recipe for them. These are snacked on in Italy. I think that I've had them before, in a little wine bar, when we were there. Has anyone else ever had them?
Here's an interesting recipe: https://www.nonnabox.com/lupini-beans/
I'm giving it a try.

I looked them up. Looks like they are another impressive food for our good health. https://www.nonnabox.com/lupini-beans/
I need more protein in my diet, so I am now looking for these. Going to just try snacking to begin with.
Holy Smokes!!! These beans aren't cheap. Still going to try at least 1 can or pack. I am going to look locally. Maybe one of our local stores will have them.

Interesting! I'd never heard of them, either. I see that there are 2 kinds - bitter or "sweet". I also saw a recipe for them in an air fryer... Maybe DH would eat them that way, he's not a fan of beans in general.
Let us know how they are!

I'm trying the recipe now. They have to be soaked, water changed and resoaked several times a day. That process should be done on Monday. After that, they're brined. They smell good...like popcorn.

My Lupini beans are done! I'm letting them soak in the brine, in the fridge. They taste good...pretty OK. They're kind of fun to eat as a snack. They took a lot of time and constant rinsing though. I'm not so sure I'd make them again. I guess if you're from an Italian family and have a tradition of eating them at Christmas time, then it would be different.
