Oh please do post it. I used to buy Maple Cream Pie at a little store in northwestern Vt. when I went to visit my son; but they don't sell it there anymore. It was soooo good!

I have an old recipe from Quebec for sugar pie and it would be interesting to compare the two. Talk about a sugar fix!! YUMMMMM

OK Here it is .. .. crust

    2 c. (real) maple syrup 2 1/4 c flour
    1 egg 1 tsp salt
    1/2 c cream or rich milk 3/4 c plus 2 T lard
    1 T butter 1/3 c cold water
    dash of black pepper
    1 T flour

Boil syrup until the soft ball stage ... cool slightly, then add the egg, cream, butter, pepper and flour. Mix well and pour into the bottom crust. Top with second crust and bake aat 350 for 45 to 55 minutes depending on your oven.

For a variation ... make the bottom crust as a one crust pie and use pecans instead of a top crust. Delicious!!

Just a few pies when the family gets together. My daughters are good cooks too!

A lot of calories I won't eat, sounds yucky to me.
