I buy Italian President's Choice 60 count & use them either in spaghetti sauce or do a sweet & sour sauce. Haven't had anybody turn them down yet. Can't justify all the work for homemade when I can get these delicious meatballs & easy, peasy. My hubby & I really enjoy them & any guests too.
Read the ingredients on that package...I really don't have a problem doing "scratch" anything, my kitchen is used, not just came with the house.....I do like Latrinka.....and her recipe is just like mine.......can't write it down or relay it, just comes natural......now baking, that's another story!!!!!!!!

My grandmother's/mother's Italian Meatball recipe....
2lbs. ground meat (beef/veal/pork/chicken/turkey) - any combination but use at least 1/2 red meat
2 eggs
1 cup seasoned breadcrumbs
1 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp dried basil
1/4 cup dried parsley
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Slightly beat the eggs & mix with ground meat. Combine the dry ingredients, then mix them thoroughly into the meat mixture. Shape into balls using approximately 1/4 cup mixture for each ball. Place on baking sheet sprayed with cooking spray. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes. Yield approximately 18 meatballs.

I use my Kitchen Aid mixer to combine a meatball mixture. 3# meat - maximum. Then I form meatballs on a cookie sheet lined with wax paper. Freeze several hours until firm, then store in plastic bag. I take out what I need, top with a mixture of ketchup, mustard, brown sugar and bake. I call them my "Lifesavers" since they are so handy for a meal. Of course, don't use the wire whip beater.
