I've used both Sierra Mist and Seven Up also, as the sodas.
Both are great tasting. The dessert is spectacular, hot, cold, with or without ice cream. And since there are only two of us, I usually cut the recipe in half. No waste to the half can of soda, I just drink it. I also have used diet drink, no difference in the taste.

The title is enough to make me look! I love diet dew. Love to have a refill to get me thru a long day! Now, I get it in my desserts!!!

I have this recipe but it uses water instead of soda. I can't wait to try it with the Mountain Dew. It's my Daughters favorite soda.

I have on occasion used the larger crescent rolls and just added more apple slices to each one. Sometimes I double the recipe and give the leftovers (if there are any) to the grandkids for lunch.
