My favourite is shortbread cookies. They melt in your mouth. I didn't make them this year because my kids are watching their weight to they say. I'll see when I serve them Christmas Dinner.

try cake mix cookies. Dump a box of cake mix (flavor your choice) into a bowl and mix in 2 Tablespoons oil, 2 T. brown sugar, and 3 T water. Will be a stiff batter. Add ingredients of your choice: nuts; coconut, choc chips, etc. Drop onto sprayed cookie sheet and bake for 6-8 min. Frost if you want, but I leave mine plain. Will last for days in tin or plastic zip bag.

Your wreaths are beautiful. I love shortbread cookies myself, my recipe is a bit different than yours. My children love the cut out sugar cookies, my daughter and son made them this year, 3 colors of frosting. They really are good and look great too. We put 1/2 the batch in the freezer for Christmas day.

One other idea I'll leave you ladies with. I love chocolate covered pretzels. I found Christmas shaped pretzels at the grocery store this year. Dipped them in my favorites melted chocolate chips. Yum! Yum!

    Merry Christmas everyone!

Your wreaths do look yummy! Those will be gobbled up in no time. I do sugar cookie cut outs from a recipe from Betty Crocker's cookbook. We frost and decorate them, but this year I just bought frosted sugar cookies. It's hard for me to get inspired this year.

YUMMY to you all! I usually don't have the patience to make cookies (I make bar cookies, fudge and the like) but when I do, I love making stained glass cookies. Just take your favorite sugar cookie recipe and make cutouts as usual, then take a smaller cookie cutter and cut out the center. Fill the center with crushed hard candy (like Jolly Ranchers or sour balls) and bake as usual ON FOIL. When done, let cool until not warm at all, so the melted candy firms up, then peel off the foil. These are so pretty!

Well I bought the ingredients and went hunting for a cookie press. Found it at JoAnns' of all places for a whopping $35.00.

No way am I spending that kind of $ to "try a cookie recipe, thank you!

I hope this works. What I did was buy a cake decorating tip and bag for $5.00. I think I can make it work.

Anyone agree or disagree and why? I am not a person that does a lot of baking so This will be an experiment and will post results. I am anxious to get started!

    Thanks again for the recipe.
    peace

I think the cake decorating tip should work. They may take some practice to make all the same. A press would make them uniform, but then, who cares when you are eating them? lol
I found my cookie press in a place like TJ max or Marshalls, and I know I didn't pay anywhere near that.
go for it, they will still taste yummy

One of my favorite is called Lazy Kolachkys
    1 pt vanilla ice cream
    4 cups all purpose flour
    1 lb butter (softened slightly)
    Any flavor Jam ,preserves (strawberry,peach , prune,plum,pineapple,etc_)

Combine all in a bowl ( will have to use your hands and it will be very cold.
Once all combined make small balls size and place on cookie sheets. Put thumb print in each cookie
and fill with desired preserve. Bake 350 for 8-10 min. Cool on wire rack and dust with powdered sugar.
When cool dust again. Even the kids can help make these.
