We are having our Thanksgiving dinner at church on Sunday, and I need to find a baked bean recipe using at least 3 different beans. I had a friend who made one like this, but we've lost touch, and I never got the recipe, even though I asked for it a few times. She always made it in a large crock pot.
Thanks in advance for any help. :D :D

This recipe has more than 3 kind of beans in it, but it is good:
Calico Bean Recipe

* 1/2 cup brown sugar
* 1 tbsp. dry mustard
* 2 cans pork and beans
* 1 can lima beans or butter beans, drained
* 1 can kidney beans, drained
* 1/2 cup ketchup
* 1 tsp. salt
* 1 tbsp. vinegar
PREPARATION:
Brown bacon, ground beef, and chopped onions. Combine drained ground beef mixture in slow cooker with remaining ingredients; cover and cook on LOW for 3 to 5 hours.

Jeanequilt's Calico Beans recipe is a winner...nearly identical to one I posted a while back. It's a family favorite and also gets devoured at potlucks. Sometimes in winter I serve it as the main dish with hot cornbread and a salad. My major difference is I add a can of butter beans --I use the large ones if I can find them. This gives 4 kinds of beans and variety in texture and color. I've also substituted a can of black beans (rinsed) for one of the beans in a pinch. Works great. Also, this is great for slow cooker or the oven, but if I'm in a hurry I've done it on the stovetop, get it hot then lower to medium or medimu-low heat for about 30 minutes (be sure to stir occasionally).

Thanks everyone, there was a menu put on the church bulletin board, and I was almost the last one to sign up. The baked beans and bread were almost all that was left! So I signed for those two items, and I was the only one! Anyway, I'm going to make all three recipes, and we'll have a lot of baked beans tomorrow.......LOL
