I made several batches of these last year.. they are so good that I cannot keep my hands out of them.. I have taken them to parties and never ever got to bring even one little truffle ball home! They're easy and always a hit.

p.s. This year I'm not making any, I learned my lesson last year! I can't make something that I have to slap people's hands because they try to get one.. doesn't go with the spirit of christmas!!

I have a similar recipe but it also calls for soda crackers.

My daughter makes the best cookies using Ritz crackers...she "frosts" them with peanut butter and then dips them in melted milk chocolate...they taste just like the "Tagalongs" that the Girl Souts sell! Yummo!

I have made these truffles with strawberry, mint, and orange sandwhich cookies. I think the ones made with cookies from the dollar store were better than the expensive oreo ones. Also I have dipped them in white chocolate and butterscotch melted chips. yummy anyway you make them. Happy Holidays Mary

Actually I was mistaken. I have this recipe to make later, but today I made the following:
    Soda Cracker Candy
    Soda Crackers
    1 cup butter
    1 cup brown sugar
    12 oz choc chips
Line a med cookie sheet with foil and oil it everywhere. Cover the cookie sheet with soda crackers. Boil butter and sugar together for 2 minutes. Pour over crackers and spread around. If crackers move try to put them back in place. Place in 350 degree oven for 5 minutes. Remove and sprinkle the choc chips on top and return to the oven until the chips melt. Take out and spread around. Cool in fridge until cool and set up. Break into pieces and enjoy.
    These are really good.
