All I have left to do is make caramels. I only made 20 different cookies this year..did not even make cutouts. Also have a small kitchen and no place to sit while I work.

Kringle is a swedish almond flavored pastry. Bottom layer of "regular" pastry topped with almomd flavored pate a choux, iced. First time making it; DH called it exquisite, so I guess it's pretty good. Juolutorttu (christmas tarts in Finnish) are puff pastry with a dollop of jam in the center made into pinwheels. They are also sometimes made with whipped cream or ricotta pastry. I just took the cardamom bread out of the over, so I am done. Back to the sewing machine.

I mixed up several dif. cookie doughs a week or so ago and put in the freezer, and now all I have to do is set out a little while and bake. When I was working with the children in church we would take orders prior to Thanksgiving . and would have a bake day at church in order to raise money so we could take the kids to an outing once a month. Skating or the zoo and breakfast or lunch because at that time we did not have a budget allocated to us. To expedite the baking, we measured the ingredients and put into a zip bag with instructions and wet items to add ahead of bake day, then all we had to do was mix and bake, no measuring and making a big mess, as the older children helped with the project.

I love the cottage cheese & dill bread. Do you make your's in a casserole bowl? We make 4 loaves at a time. The kids & grandkids are usually over and playing games. When the bread comes out of the oven we finish off 2 loaves while hot. This bread is really good for tuna sandwiches. Mix the tuna with Miracle Whip and Storey's Sweet Memories pickles. The pickles are those bright green ones like your grandmother used to make. Anyway, Dilly Bread is delicious and easy to make.

What Krisb describes as Kringle, my family calls Danish puff. To us, Kringle is a yeast dough, patted out quite flat, with jam or a nut filling spread down the center before baking.
We also make dilly bread with cottage cheese. I love it spread with liver sausage!
Oh, oh! Now I'm hungry!
