going to give this a try thanks alot. On regular pineapple cake recipe substitute peeled sliced granny smith apples, a nice change from pineapple slices.

Thanks, Pat P, for that good tip! Not everyone here likes pineapple. For some color, I would dice some maraschino cherries and scatter on the top for cosmetic appeal.
