These sound so good and easy to make. Have you tried them? How do they compare to chocolate brownies? I love butterscotch anything & am sure to love these. Thanks!

gosh i don't even remember what shortening is!!! I don't bake much, you can tell. and i use Olive Oil since forever.
I hear shortening, lard, etc. I am old and should remember. |
I have made them many times over the years. Soft and chewy.
|
I used to make them all the time when my boys were growing up. My recipe calls for butter instead of shortening.
Now I want one haha |
This sounds wonderful! I too love anything butterscotch.
My mom had a recipe for butterscotch pie that was to die for - but I failed to look for it and my sister swore it was the one in the Betty Crocker book. So I tried it and not even close. So I asked my aunt (her sister) to see if she knew it and she said my mom had made it long before she was married. She believes it was in a book that my grandmother had - quite possible it was one their church put together. But my aunt never cooked much and my mother started cooking when she was in 7th grade for their family when my grandmother decided to go to work. |
We make something very similar and add chocolate chips. We like them.

Thank you!! Next to chocolate butterscotch sits :)
|
Would you top these off with chocolate frosting? I have a friend who thinks brownies aren't really brownies unless they have frosting on them. :)
