    Yes, you freeze them after baking. The longer the freezing time, the better the cake tastes and the apples get redder--it is really a nice holiday bread!

    Red Delicious works in this recipe. The other kinds of apples do not seem to work the redness or taste very well. Ronda

    It all sounds great, but I wonder what would happen if you soaked the apples in vodka or gin? LoL
