Thumbs up Review of Easier Than A Mug Cake

Oh my goodness!!! So easy!! So Good!!!
We mixed the Angel Food and White Cake, made it in a mug, it popped right out onto little bowl, then added a dollop of crushed pineapple. What a treat!!! Thanks for posting the recipe.

I made one with spice cake mix and angel food...wasn't very spicy so got out my old cookbook and looked up spice cake recipe and added 3/4 t. cinnamon, 1/4 t. cloves, and 1/4 t. allspice. It is really good and topped with whipped topping makes a nice small dessert. My daughter happened by and took six snack baggies of the mix to treat her co-workers today. Since there are only two of us we don't make full sized cakes because they dry out before we can eta them up so these little desserts are fresh every time. What fun!

I have now gone to the almost quarter cup of water, put that in first....this helps with the dissolving of all of the mix. Then I add 5 or 6 slightly heaping tablespoons of the mix..stir,stir..I have now learned (made way too many) what the consistency should be. place this in a very large coffee cup....a regular one would go over the side. cook in microwave for 70 seconds...not 60. It is about 3 and half inches tall. I make the chocolate flavor, pour cream over the top....Hubby loves it. I always serve immediately...I don't know how they do when cooled off. perhaps we could wrap in clear wrap....haven't tried that, they never last long enough to wrap.

I've bought the cake mixes I so appreciate Lady Diana telling that her cup is about 3.5" tall. What size mugs are the rest of you using and are your measurements 5-6 slightly heaping tablespoons what you use in ratio to the quarter cup of water?

Hi Susan ~ I'm assuming you are high altitude like I am...did you make any adjustments for the high altitude with your Easier than Mug Cake? Smiles from SW Idaho.

    Crockpot Apple Dump Cake

6 medium Granny Smiths, peeled and sliced thin
    1/4 cup granulated sugar
    q 1/2 t cinnamon, divided
1 box yellow (or spice) cake mix
    1/2 cup oatmeal

Place apples in the bottom of the crock, sprinkle with sugar and 1/2 t of cinnamon. Stir oatmeal into cake mix with rest of cinnamon. Sprinkle over apples and cook on high 4 hours.

Just the usual angelfood cake mix you just add water to. The angelfood becomes the "eggs" for the cake.
