Has anyone mentioned adding some powdered mustard to the cream sauce? Betty Crocker cookbook adds it to their macaroni and cheese reciep.

    Default Mustard powder

I do. I am a little powdered mustard & a little onion powder. I use long horn cheese cuz that's what my grandmom used.

I put, not powdered mustard, but prepared mustard in mine. It adds a little bit of tang to the cheese sauce, which I really like.

I'm going to have to try the crock pot method. I like all of the ideas that everyone has brought to the table. Pun intended.
