Default slow cooker mac and cheese

I have just found a wonderful new recipe without having to cook the macaroni first. Here it is:

    1 cup dry macaroni
    3-4 tbsp butter
    8-12 oz shredded cheese
    1 quart of millk
    salt and pepper to taste

Just put all of the above in a slow cooker and cook on high until soft and creamy. Stir several times to avoid sticking together and to the bottom. My rice cooker is a slow cooker and that's what I cooked mine in. It took about 2 hours. I also made this and added about 1 cup of chopped cooked ham. Once I added some dried minced onion. I made the milk from instant powered non-fat milk and it was great. Hope you like it.

Here's another really different mac & cheese slow cooker recipe. It is quite different from the regular........I had it for my Memorial Day BBQ and everyone was a bit surprised with their first bite but continued on and seemed to really enjoy it.

    Sweetened Mac & Cheese...Prep time: 10 mins...Cook time: 3 hours....Total time: 3 hours 10 mins
    Ingredients
    • 1 (16 oz) box elbow macaroni, cooked and strained
    • 1 (16 oz) Velveeta cheese
    • 3½ cups milk
    • 1 stick butter
    • 2 cans sweetened condensed milk
    • 3 cups shredded cheese
    • salt and pepper to taste
    Instructions
    1. Combine all ingredients into crockpot.
    2. Cook on Medium-High for 3 hours.
    3. Serve warm.

That sounds great and it doesn't make a whole lot, like most things that go in the slow cookers. Wonder if it will fit in those new small ones that everyone got for Christmas last year.
