MRSPETE, have you tried putting your spices in the freezer?
I kept sage my mother grew in my freezer for years and it was just as good when I finished it as when she gave it to me. Just be sure it is sealed real good.

Thank you for the recipe. I love the idea of using this in soups and stews. I never remember what I used the last time so it never taste the same. Thank you.

Your welcome, Quilter 42, and welcome to the QB from VA!! You will simply love all that you see and learn here!! I love tacos too and also put the spice in my chili! It does kick it up a notch!! One time while making chili, the lid came off the chili powder bottle and lots of seasoning spilled out. Everyone went back for seconds so that accident taught me something!! A little extra will give it a nice bite too! Have a nice Thanksgiving!! :D :D :D

Yes!! I just add tablespoons 1-2 for soups and stews. This recipe equals 2 TBSP. total so double the recipe for more flavoring. I broke the recipe down so the 10 servings is not correct on that. Sorry about that. I often do that to recipes for wanting small amounts. So 2 TBSP. would be a good amt. for a crock size pot. For tacos, I would use a heavy amt. of 4 TBSP. or more depending on desire of taste. Thank you, dorothy!!

Thank you for sharing this recipe.

I love most anything cooked with a mexican flare. More often than not I add a just little jalpeno in my cornbread too! Especially when making chili.

Your welcome!! That's a nice surprise to put in your cornbread! I am sure others will appreciate knowing this and trying it too! I don't go near jalapeno but we love Mexican and Italian dishes the most!!
