When I make up noodles for my family... I make 2/3 like you do, thick and chewier...DD#2 wants them thinner more like store bought...DB has to have whole wheat due to being Diabetic...3 pots going on the stove LOL I don't mind...it takes a little more time to make DB's and DD's I just run through the pasta machine an extra time before I cut them up lol
Have you tried a pasta machine yet? I bought one for polymer clay...it works great, is cheaper, I just have to cut the noodles with the tool I have that is like yours. I like that IT does the rolling for me

Amma I haven't tried a pasta machine. I get a kick out of thinking I am doing it the way my grandmother did. I don't think I would have the patience to do 3 versions!

Altho when I make potato salad I seperate the salad and add a little mustard to DHs and a little sugar to mine and Mom's I leave alone. I use Miracle Whip for the dressing.

I just don't know if I would use one. I have done it the old fashioned way so long that I don't know if I would go to the trouble. I don't have a food processor or even a blender. I have had them but never used them much.

Thanks for the noodle recipe. I make a lot of soups, but had not made chicken and noodle for years because I can't make noodles like my mom did.

It is Bev When I make Chicken Vegetable soup I do the same homemade chicken broth but I add a jar of applesause to the broth. I like the slightly sweet flavor. I'll have to add my Chicken Veg Soup to the recipes soon.

My mom likes squash tho I am not crazy about it I can eat it. She is always looking for new recipes and she came across this squash soup recipe last winter. It has apples and squash and onions and I don't remember what else in it. Well I liked the flavor of the broth(chicken) with the apples added so when I was making my chicken vegetable soup I didn't have any apples so I added a jar of applesauce. I cook my soup over several hours so the applesauce blends into the chicken broth really nicely. It just gives it a differant flavor. My mom actually is soso about it but I love it.

I will put my chicken veg soup recipe on in alittle while so you can see how it goes together.

When we make chili I always add ketchup for a sweet chili. If you like things sweet you will probably like the applesauce in the chicken soup. My husband has more of a savory or sour bent to food but he likes my chicken soup.
