    Default Water Kefir Time!

I love fizzy drinks and my regular go-to is simple, seltzer water from the grocery store. But, I don't know what is in their water and it tastes very "municipal." Instead, lately I've just been drinking our spring water...but alas...no fizz. Today, I started a new batch of Water Kefir, which is a fizzy probiotic drink that you can make over a few days. I can use my own water too, which is nice. It's easy to make in the summer because the temperature is warm. I like to flavor it with whatever is ripening in the garden that week...lemons, blackberries, plums, etc.

    Anyone else make water kefir?

I love the milk kefir with 2% milk. I have never tried water kefir. I try every way I can to eat or drink more protein daily. I make a smoothie with the milk kefir, 1/2 banana, blueberries and/or strawberries and pecans. Drinking this concoction on an empty stomach has finally put an end to a 30+ years stomach problem I had.

I had to look it up Tartan, https://www.feastingathome.com/water-kefir/
My take? Fermented water, akin to keeping sourdough starter alive.
I love to try a cup, but I'm too lazy to keep a drink going
