When I was pregnant with ou first child, my usual lunch was Campbell's chicken noodle soup and peanut butter and honey sandwiches.

We make somthing my family called Hungarian Goulash but it is just bacon, onions and hamburger that was browned and a can of tomato soup added. Thin a bit with water. Cook a thin spaghetti to mix in and you are good to go! Very yummy comfort food in our house.

Also occasionaly we make a fast bacon chowder. Fry some bacon (we usually have some already cooked in the freezer), saute chopped onions, add milk, frozen corn and potato flakes to thicken.

Today it's 15* with a windchill of -6 degrees. It's definitely a grilled cheese and tomato soup day at our house!!

Sometimes these throw together left overs turn out to be great dinners. We usually have them on Thursdays.

I've been making a lot of soups in my crock pot. Especially like Italian Wedding soup, Zuppa Tuscano (an Olive Garden copy), beef stew, etc. With just DH & I it makes 2 meals, I freeze one. Question for all: can I freeze Potato Soup?
Thanks for your help and all these great "go to" suggestions.

One of my favorite "throw together quickly" is browned hamburger meat, seasoned with chili powder, cumin, and salt, add some Dona Maria Nopalitos (cactus). Saute for a minute or two then roll up in corn tortillas with lettuce and cheese. This is good with some rice or just by themselves.

My son always called it refrigerator soup. I would have a veggie ziplok and a meat ziplok in the freezer and would add the small bits of meat or veggies leftover to the appropriate bag. Then saute an onion, add V8 juice and the ziplok bags contents - spice it up and delicious soup!! Amazing how the V8 pulled everything together.
