My favorite Thanksgiving recipe is my dressing - it is just the bread torn into pieces with onions, celery, poultry seasoning, thyme, and sage. Moistened with turkey broth and very little butter.
My DH and youngest DD loves my green bean casserole - I use at least 4 cans of green beans, 1 can of cream of mushroom soup, shredded cheddar cheese, a little milk which helps the cheese blend easier and the Frenches fried onions mixed in and then sprinkled on top once it is cooked and bubbly - then cook another 5 - 10 minutes to toast the onions a bit more. I didn't care for it at all until my mom added the cheese and stirred in the onions - otherwise it just tasted like Cream of Mushroom soup with green beans.
