    Thanks for all the responses. I do preheat to 425 F and let it go several minutes after the beeps stop.... it beeps way too early. I think I will try canned biscuits!

    Are you using a light pan? try using a dark pan.

    I saw a recipe in the latest "Woman's Day" magazine that looks good. I have never heard of this before, but they used a beaten egg to brush on the tops before baking. Out of curiosity I will try this.

    I made Valentine Biscuits for my sweetie this morning...baked them on a pizza stone..really nicely browned. used my usual recipe.

    My mother always made great biscuits - I was shocked when my husband told me he didn't like buttermilk biscuits or cornbread. (He waited until after we were married to tell me.) My mother said it was just as well, something you don't have to give up when you need to lose weight. So I only get biscuits when we go to KFC, which isn't very often.
