I am new to the list and new to quilting, so often have "stupid questions" and would love to have a mentor. I think I'd like to try a rag quilt. It looks like it would be a good beginners project. I've only worked with fleece crazy blocks that were sewn together and tied rather than quilt-stitched

I'm new on here too and new to quilting. I've made two quilts, one a baby quilt and the other a lap quilt. I've used pretty basic patterns, strips of various colors with borders. Right now I'm making Christmas stockings for my daughters and their families. I want to make sure I get it done in time! :) When I finish them I'm going to start on lap quilts for each of my daughters. I'd like to try a four patch or a nine patch.

I am a newbie to quilting but I was around relatives that quilted when I was young. I have been making baby quilts and teen quilt throws for my grandkids. My daughter suggest I make and sell them to her friends. I made a Dora quilt and A Cars quilt now someone is harrassing me saying I can't sell them because of licensing. What is the Deal?

Our church makes no-sew fleece blankets for Project Linus and I save all of the corners that have to be cut out to make the ties. So I decided since I had bags full of corner squares I'd try putting them together like a quilt. Then I knotted the top to a plain fleece back and then blanket stitched the top to the bottom around the edges. Then I cut the ties from the plain fleece and tied them. Now our church has made some to sell to raise money to buy fleece for more Project Linus blankets!
