Default quilted table cloth help needed

I want to make this and have eight 10 inch squares. I don't need to use all eight. They are the chicken ones and I have Blk with white pocka dot for the 4 inch boarder. I want to use red and blk plain around the blocks some how and the use the white plain maybe to sash the blocks. I cannot come up with a pattern. I would sure like any suggestions. Thanks

What if you made red barns around each chicken block, used the black to fill in the triangles to square it back up, and sash it with the white?

The barn roof angles might be tricky; I'd probably have to draw it out and then make old-school cardboard templates to accomplish that part but you might be more clever than that!

That looks like a real fun tablecloth.
A Churn Dash block would allow you to incorporate you red and block in the border around your chickens. It's also known as Hole In The Barn Door, so this would be like the chickens peeping out the barn door!
Kind of like them being in a cage!

Another idea would be to keep it simple and alternate your chickens with the red and black. However, you did not mention how much you have, so hard to know if you would be able to do that.

The white could be used as a sashing as you suggested. However, for me, for a table cloth I would not as the white would show any stains long before the other fabrics/colours would.

Something else to consider when doing your piecing and final placement in the tablecloth, would be the direction the chickens are facing. It'd be nice to have them facing each person as they sit at the table!

Thanks to all of you girls. You are the greatest. I am starting out with the quiltercachs with A star in the window. Thanks for the suggestions and I am certainly going to try and make the blocks go so both sides of the table can see the chicken straight up. I'll show everyone when i am finished. I love chickens and roosters.

Super cute fabric and pattern ideas!

QuiltE, I found this pattern called Star Window, don't know if it's the same as sewingsuz is talking about, but it's a cute pattern..reminds me of Cathedral window...
