Quilt of Valor
#15
Thanks everyone for the kind words and compliments. Our guild presents about 40 quilts of valor each year, usually around Veteran's Day....which, of course, is appropriate. Last year we scrambled at the last minute to have enough quilts, so I am just creating a bit earlier than usual. We have only done this for four years, but we all think it is a good cause. We also make quilts for a Boy's Ranch nearby, each boy gets a quilt to keep. Another good cause.
....I am not sure where I was going with this. Our guild does all kinds of charity quilts, though we call them comfort quilts. I am sure all guilds do similar things. I just decided this year that July was the month I would make my quilts of valor. When July was over, I would go back to other colors, mainly purple.
Again, thanks for the sweet words

Good job with this quilt, I love the double slice pattern too. Am getting ready to make one shortly for my oldest granddaughter and her husband. Maybe I’ll make a QOV in honor of my daughter who was military?
