Completed Midnight Garden Quilt from a Riley Blake kit
A few months back I purchased a Riley Blake kit for the Indigo Garden fabric line. Here is a PDF of the line that contains images of the fabric and kit.
This was my first time buying a kit from Riley Blake. I have only purchased one other kit before and that was the Heartfelt kit from Fat Quarter Shop. I can say I was a little disappointed by the kit. This is probably due to the high bar FQS set. The FQS kit had a lot of information in the directions that indicate which fabrics to use and included plenty of extra fabric in case of cutting errors. The Riley Blake kit did not call out what fabrics to use where and I felt like any mistake would result in being short on fabric. I still very much like the quality of the fabric and I like the end result of the quilt, but it was a slight struggle getting the fabric sorted and cut. I would still buy another kit from them if I like the design and price. When looking for a link to the kit to share, I noticed a new kit that is due for release in November that I may try to pick up. For the backing I used some fabric I purchased from Marshall Dry Goods by the bolt.
anywho, onto the pictures 😊

Bright and beautiful and dog approved! I have bought dozens of kits and yes, fabric quantities do vary, but I have always been pleased with the results. I'm working on a kit right now and have almost enough of the fabric left to make another lap quilt (this is a twin).
