I'm baaaaaaaaaaaack!!!!!!!!
Lovely block MaryK .... I'm with W4Me, and like the dark red you used. Better to not race for your Guild show, and risk not being happy with it. There's always the next show! Impressive work, as usual, over on your blog! Your DS's is going to be a real masterpiece ... and oh so special being that he has climbed there too!
OKSGlad ... thanks for the link. Almond's quilt is a beauty. I too really like her setting, and interesting that she did the two different block sizes. Are those your much loved Civil War fabrics?
................. and here it is September 23rd, and not one DJ done for me, in August OR September!
I swear, there will be ONE done before M/E!

MK ... looks great. Agree with others. Don't race.
Take a page from my book (OK ... perhaps just a paragraph!). I took 4 months just to plan mine and another 2 months to find the fabric.
Good news on the horizon ... I should have my fabric by mid-October.
I CAN'T WAIT TO GET STARTED!!!!

I took the second table runner to the store this morning. Both are on display as well as 4 others of mine. My French braid is kind of hidden but the blue squares are getting a lot of positive attention. The owner told me that people were surprised by the blue and said they wouldn't have thought of it but just might try something unexpected in the future because of it. I'm told the quilt will be more prominent in the next couple of weeks plus my bargello will be in the front window. So, another trip to the quilt store in a few weeks. Gee, what a hardship.
Sorry, but several bragging photos follow. My quilting is a bit different than the norm so it is nice to have it appreciated. It's good for the store, too, as it shows options.

Both runners are mine.

Squashed is the little pumpkin on the left. Despite not having the pattern , the store thought he was too fun to not show off.
You can see how the French braid quilt is hidden under the bolts of fabric but you can see the blue in the next shot.

Both the wonky houses and the cat with moon are mine. The store carries a wonky houses pattern.
She is gong to try to get in a watercolour wreath book or pattern so she can display my pink poinsettia watercolour Christmas wreath. You didn't think a Christmas quilt from me would be traditional colours did you?

She probably did!
What a wonderful display at your LQS, W4Me!!!!!!!!
You must be bursting with pride.
I really do like both of those, but gosh, those kitties have me entranced every time I see them. BTW did you strategically place that one spider for the kitty's eye? or just a lucky land? Great text fabric .... I see them, and never quite know what to do with them. You aced that one!
