If you are looking to give the quilt to someone who will preserve it, consider the Lamar County Genealogical society. Societies are usually the keepers of history.

Please somebody update this awesome saga of this quilt. So much work has been done to find out the ladies that made it. I've been a member of this board for years and cannot recall seeing this thread until today. I've read the whole thread and enjoyed the mystery history. Please update us on the information going forth from 2016. If only quilts could talk!
Thank you.
Thank you.

I did not recognize any of the names. I was hoping I would see my grandmother's name but I didn't. You sure do have a treasure of a quilt and hopefully you can find someone that will recognize a few of the names. Wonderful quilt. Good luck on your search

I would go to that church and ask if they have records from that time period..bet you find the congregation on that quilt! I live in NY, but a friend of mine has a huge collection of her family quilts..she has 2 like that..one was a going away gift for a pastor, the other was a quilt made for a hope chest.

I, too, would like to know what was the final resting place for this quilt.
