Hi MaryK ... yeaaaaaa for you continuing with your DJ.
Mine stopped dead (and all sewing for that matter) in the spring while I worked on the book.
The DJ blocks are still on their design wall, staring at me when I go into the sewing room!
The good news is that I have actually managed a bit of sewing in the last few days, but not Jane.
I've been thinking of my Janes, and not sure how I will proceed when I get to it.
As for the original ... yes, hand quilted and from, what I remember I think it was just minimal and varied according to the designs.
I know I have seen some pics, but can't remember where.
Maybe some of the others have the links all nicely saved??
And now, maybe you and some of the others will nudge me back to my Jane.
All I know is that mine is not going to be a real Jane ... I will be changing it up!

You know QE...nothing is ever exactly like the original...glad to hear you are thinking about your Jane. Last night I worked on cutting fabrics for my FWS. I chose to finish that rather than start the new FWS sew along..

MK I'm using the original FWS for the Civil War fabrics. I have Kansas Troubles fabrics in the FWS Pony Club quilt. Since neither of these are finished I opted not to start the FWS 30's with the quilt along on board..they are on week 10 this week..Honchey is hosting it as she did the lots two. Look in
Blocks of the Month and Week
for all the weeks...below is the current week.

OKSGlad ...for sure! ... I never do cookie cutter quilts. Always something different to the original.
MKatherine ... yup, researched and wrote a book with a friend, "The Cheese Factories, Creameries and Dairies of Clearview Townships and Collingwood. It made its debut at Collingwood Fair, along with a display of antiques and relevant signage.
As you can imagine, it has a limited readership ... though I bet the subject matter will get OKSGlad's attention!
