    thank you but setting the tensions on a long arm are quite different than for a sewing machine and it's the long arm i'm having the problems with, but thanks for your link too, that was interesting

    thank you to all you ladies. i went on line and purchased that Towa Gauge. now my question is: - what would be an average number to set your bobbin tension on, then adjust the top tension to make a good stitch top & bottom?

    I usually set my tension for my bobbin one or two lines below the 20. Superior Threads has a suggested bobbin tension for each of their threads that they sell.

    thank you sandi, i appreciate your help, can't wait to receive the towa gauge i ordered. i've been having several different problems with my tin lizzie but i think we've just about got them all uner control. my warranty runs out end of this year and i want everything running smoothly by then.
