I have had this happen. The lines washed right out for me. A little Dawn, a little water.

I used a purple Frixxion to mark where the center was in my embroidery design space. After stitching I ironed the purple marks and they turned WHITE!

Here's a pic of what they look like. Hopefully they will wash out when Erin washes the apron for the first time!

Sooo glad you posted your experience with the Frixion pens. I had thought about buying some but never got around to it. It seems we are always looking for the PERFECT solution for marking our quilts. Actually my choice for marking dark fabrics is soap slivers. I also have the Sewline refillable mechanical pencils which I have used for light fabrics.

I was told by a distributor to use steam. I quilt for customers and commented at a quilt show that I couldn't wash the quilts so wasn't interested. He said that if you use a steamer, the lines won't come back with cold or heat..............

I would think if it's a white line on dark fabric, it actually removed the color of the fabric. I can't imagine black ink turning white.

I used Dawn dish soap, rinsed, ironed dry, and the white line stayed. I think it actually bleached the fabric.

Pilot's website actually says that all their gel ink is acid free and archival. I emailed them for clarification, and since these are made with their gel ink, yes, they are too.

I won't be using them on dark fabrics without testing though...

I just acquired a set of the pens. So far, so good. I've found that Oxy Clean works well at bleaching out stains without the harmful effects of bleach. I'v used it with detergent and a very gentle cycle in my front loader on an antique which came out looking fresh as a daisy. Perhaps it would work on your lines. The few times I've used the pens I've always used the steam iron. Perhaps that's why I haven't had a mishap.

    I'll be following this thread.

Very interesting. When I first came across the pens in Sept 2010, I did a bunch of research and checked their website, and at that time it said nothing at all about being acid free and archival.
