I am actually having a blast playing around on the new site..It is confusing but very interesting too, but to me most things are confusing and if I let confusion stop me, than I would not be quilting today

I, like so many others, hate change!!! It ruffles my feathers and confuses me!! But I have learned that change is inevitable and one must learn to accept it. I was afraid that we would lose some members after seeing the new board. I think the format could be intimidating for people who are not comfortable on the computer. I too think that the old format was more user friendly but we also were used to that format. And yes, a LOT of work went into the upgrade of this website and many thanks to those involved. I think it is sad that we will be losing members because of the upgrade but people know their limitations and need to be respected for that.

I think this update will work fine....I received some 'error' windows logging in but once in and looking around, the layout is nice. I had no idea how many people are on this site. My goodness, it's a HUGE community!

I went on a missions trip following Hurricane Katrina to New Orleans. The pastor who was in charge of the volunteers gave me this piece of advice: Do not be like a flexible branch, because that eventually breaks. Instead, be like a river and go with the flow. Piece of advice to keep in mind with all the changes to the board
As a side note, I noticed a very old thread, from 2009, about glitches with the last update (before my time). It might be a good idea to have one of those started by the admin/mods for this update - just in case any of them are reading. I've run into a few glitches already.

I agree with those suggesting that the new look be given a chance. There is a lot of hard work by a lot of people to keep this board going and I was totally and completly lost yesterday while it was down. I really missed the posts and the pics. All of what makes us special s still here .... it just looks a little different. If people left without giving the new board a chance it truly is their loss.

Thank you for trying to fix the white background issue
Thank you admins for trying to fix the stark white background on the board. It isn't quite as glaring as it was yesterday. I think the change is an improvement in the right direction. People with vision/light/contrast issues may ask for it to be a little darker.

Ladies and gents.... do not leave! There is nothing wrong with change, it just takes getting used to. The poor mods of this board are being bombarded and need patience and understanding. I have seen changes in things on the board since this morning, so it seems to me they are diligently working to make this a great community. As I said earlier (in a new thread that was then thrust into the middle of this one)... this is the same board, same wonderful, helpful people. Do you really want to "react" and leave? I would have to say that will be your loss in the end. I, for one, would be sad to see people leave and not give themselves time to adjust.
