So, if you consider how much fabric costs: over here you'll pay 15 to 20 € per meter, there is a little treasure hidden in all the little scraps... And so I must think what to do with them....

I was present for a trunk show by Bonnie Hunter, and she made this exact point - just because the piece of fabric is less than 1/4 yard doesn't mean it's worthless...and she has many **FREE** quilt patterns on her website, with great instructions...just read through them a couple of times and look at the photos before starting any pattern so you don't spend hours unsewing....ask me how I know this!

The only downside is that the smaller the scrap, the larger percentage you lose to seams. I would figure that you are only going to wind up with about 60 to 75% of what you think. I'm not saying this as a negative, I love scrap quilts, just mentioning this for planning purposes.

You are right: I once measured the Log Cabin Blocks before and after sewing and found out that for the whole quilt minimum one meter or more then one yard vanishes in the seams!!!

Usually a yard of fabric weight between 5 to 6 ounces. Sorry, I don't know what the conversion is into grams. But yes, you have more than a yard or two of cut up fabric. Have FUN !!!

Those will make an awesome scrappy creation. I love that one with the little turquoise squirrels. May need to check that out!

I converted 6 oz to kilogramms and it nearly came out the weight I got for 1 meter of my fabric!!!! My fabric has a little bit more!

Exactly PPrincess! That is why I try to make minis out of these little "pre cuts" rather than cut the strips for a specific width in a project.

I was finally able to find the wire frames for the rag wreaths so I can get busy making them with my smaller strips. Maybe I will play with my scrap drawer today.
